HYFY plays unlistenable music about intractable issues. Their hometown of Yellowknife, NWT has embraced their loquacious approach to punk, and graciously forgives their occasional art-punk leanings. Since forming in 2024, HYFY has been playing any shed, basement, or barge that will have them. A HYFY show promises compelling vocals, capricious guitar melodies, rambunctious bass, and also drums. HYFY is Cat McGurk, Kay Sibbeston, René O'Reilly, and Peter Adourian. They like to listen to Gang of Four, Dead Kennedys, and Wipers, among many, many others. If you're high, bi, or just some guy, you'll dig HYFY.
Gratuitous are the screaming guitars in your favourite dive. The lyrics you live and die for, sweaty scene kids in matching necklaces that blaze their own path, a cult classic in the making. Infamous in local circles for an unforgettable live show and a commitment to constantly one-upping themselves. With lo-fi live recordings in unconventional locations, and handmade custom merchandise, Gratuitous is a DIY Powerhouse. Pushing their own boundaries every day. You can try and drown them out, but they won't let you.
SCHOOLYARD is an electrifying new band capturing raw energy and emotion in sound. Driven by a passion for blending diverse genres, SCHOOLYARD merges a gritty garage rock vibe with indie and punk influences, creating a sound that’s both nostalgic and fresh.
