Purple City Music Festival 2026 takes place September 11th - 13th in Edmonton / amiskwaciwâskahikan. Curating the newest sounds from the global underground, this diverse & inclusive festival is entirely All Ages/Licensed. Enjoy 100+ bands,over 3 days on 9 different stages, along with live wrestling and free-access music industry educational sessions. All events take place within a 2-block vicinity of the downtown core

Throat Piss
Deep in the sludgy gutters of Austin, Texas, lies a visceral sound of trembling lows and smokey highs. Succulent saxophone and sibilant screams. A constant reminder of existential dread and animosity. A group emerges as a stoner with a 7-string, a very pissed off woman, a sexy sax man, and a huge disappointment. We’re Throat Piss, we’re heavy, and we don’t take anything seriously.
Tekarra
Tekarra is a three-piece atmospheric drone/doom metal band from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Known for "mountainous doom" and "amplifier worship," the band creates slow, heavy soundscapes often described as meditative and glacial, featuring downtuned guitars and sparse, purposeful drumming
Truster
The sludgy, emotional metal of Truster is the sound of tearing yourself apart to stitch yourself back together. Vocals whisper and wail as the rest of the band, sounding like the end of the world, crashes down around them.
Molten Lava
Molten Lava is 2 dudes that love to explore the boundaries of their skills on their respected instruments. Formed in 2007, they've never restricted each other musically. There is a total trust in one another to bring something unique and creative. Taking influence from Converge to Sinéad O'Connor to NoMeansNo, Molten Lava brings a dynamic energy to every performance.
