Dual Nature formed in 2015 as a project of necessity for five long-time friends. After messing about in garage rock territory for several years and releasing an EP with Double Lunch Records, the Edmonton-based band began incorporating post-punk influences into their sound. This experimentation culminated in their first full-length, The End of History, in April 2022. 

The group’s 2025 EP, Content, retains the sorrowful, doomsday atmosphere traversed on The End of History, while drawing further inspiration from the ceaseless sonic brutality of noise rock acts such as The Jesus Lizard and Metz. Communicated via pummeling drums, piercing guitars, gritty, muscular bass, and manic, snarling vocals, the result is a violently cathartic synthesis of despair and rage.
