Big Sugar
Big Sugar
Gordie Johnson storms the stage with his signature double neck Gibson guitar, howling into the mic "I just got back from a cosmic storm". He may sing like a man possessed but he is a man sharing what it's like to be blessed.

Big Sugar boldly goes forth on the new album "PLANETS ...FOR THE WEARY TRAVELER". Johnson, at the controls of his Texas studio “THE SOUND SHACK”, applies his signature 1970s thump and otherworldly psycho-acoustic dub effects that have made him a much sought out remixer/producer. For the first time, there are no co-writers outside the band and the new lyrics ring true. Uplifting and full of resolve whilst addressing the realities of a hard life lived and survived; whether it's the tale of redemption in "The Better It Gets" or the debate between faith and science in "Earthlings".

There has always been magic flying between Johnson and his diverse troupe known worldwide as Big Sugar but this is a new kind of magic; a shiny alchemy that compliments their newest blissful transformation. He is joined by his long time reggae bassist Garry Lowe, indie rock drummer/humorist Chris Gormley and the languid Alex Johnson (Gordie's sexy significant other) adding subliminal textures of percussive sound, along with brand new member Rey Arteaga, master of Afro Cuban rhythms on congas. Whether these 5 are performing brand new songs or their certified hits, the roots rock reggae groove is deep and Gordie Johnson's guitar always tells a story.

Johnson's vocals bear the scars of time yet emanate a vital musicality that recalls the young band that burst into the spotlight with the raging "Ride Like Hell" or their first radio hit "Diggin A Hole". He explains that the new Big Sugar sings like a family, enabling them to create a sixth element with their powerful harmonies.

The leaner, cleaner, present day Big Sugar still rock the house to keep fans dancing and playing air guitar but whatever you thought this band was, let it go. The opening lines of the first track “Never Been Done Before” state it best: "I'm back to let y'all know, I'm here. Let's get on with the show".
Lex Justice
Lex Justice
Lex Justice is musician, writer and performer. With the 2017 release of “Crazy World”, he will present his 8th professional studio album to the world. As a long time fixture in the North American music scene, Justice has made a career in networking and collaborating. This album features keyboardist Roger Smith (Oakland’s legendary TOWER OF POWER/JEFF BECK), guitarist Cam MacLeod (WHITE WOLF) and Greg Williamson on drums (ECONOLINE CRUSH/TUPELO HONEY/KINGDOOM). With elements of Classic Reggae, R&B, Jazz and even Rock, this album offers a style everybody can truly listen to.

Lex has spent years working hard and hustling in Canada and Los Angeles. He founded the rock group SUGAKANE (3 albums), fronted and wrote for Blues group JIMMY & The SLEEPERS (2 albums) and created the Industrial Metal Group KINGDOOM (2 albums), a band that included Chris Vrenna of NINE INCH NAILS and MARYLIN MANSON fame. After 5 years and many shows with KINGDOOM, he decided to return to a cultural and spiritual platform, feeling that the time to create a positive message through music is now; a return to Reggae and World Music.

Although fusing some world music into KINGDOOM or guesting on stage with Canada’s kings of reggae: BIG SUGAR, Justice has made the time to release a long overdue and anticipated Reggae album of his own that has people in the industry buzzing. A whole new show, album and band, has given this versatile artist an opportunity to share a unique, cultural, and spiritual experience with his audience. The years of living in Los Angeles inspired the title of the album and title track, alluding to experiences one can only understand by treading water within a fast industry where talent and hard work are not the factors that always breed success and ‘overnight success’ is reality.

Justice has been involved in a number of groups and has worked alongside GRAMMY winners, JUNO winners and is a multiple award recipient/nominee: 5 time EMA award nominee, 3 time WCMA nominee and current member/bassist of 2 time JUNO nominated Canadian rock act ECONOLINE CRUSH.
