Alleviate
Alleviate
It’s getting pretty common to hear “Rock n’ Roll is dead", but in Northern Alberta there lies a band called Alleviate who proves that saying is nothing but untrue. After their shows it’s not unusual to hear comments about Alleviate helping rebirth Rock and Roll. Their fans appreciate their memorable sound and powerful lyrics. Alleviate are preparing to head to the studio to begin the recording process of their first studio album. The band has been working hard on writing quality songs that not only satisfy their own standards but also hold true to their fans expectations; of honest, raw Rock and Roll. Since their inception the band had been focused on working hard and having fun, whether you are talking with the band or attending a live show it becomes clear that this is what they strive for. A signature sound with a blend of both electric and acoustic guitars and a combination of lyrics that range from portraying the harsh realities of life to learning to love and grow are key to what draws crowds to Alleviate. Their live shows make it clear that they’re not only giving it all they got but also walk on and off the stage as great friends. A combination of, energetic and heavy hitter Aaron Passek, Chris Weihmann’s complimentary and thunderous bass playing, the hypnotizing and intimate playing style of Matt Mackenzie and Chad Plamondon’s strong and fiery vocals and lead work is what creates Alleviate's unique and memorable sound. The band has many influences from every genre of the past 50 years, but their roots are Rock and Roll, and their music conveys not only the ferocity of classic rock but also brings a new twist that pulls in fans of all ages and genres. One thing is certain is Alleviate prove every time they hit the stage that Rock and Roll is not only alive and breathing but coming off the rails with intensity and power. Alleviate’s drive to maintain the authenticity of ‘real’ Rock and Roll with honest lyrics and powerful music is what separates them from the rest. They believe that this mentality has shaped Rock and Roll into what we know and love and are so excited to be a part of today's Rock and Roll scene.
Dextress
Dextress
"Armed with a sound that's primal and in your face, Dextress will make you move no matter what they're playing.

A four person band originating in Calgary, Alberta, Dextress uses heavy hitting power chords, slick solos, and attention grabbing vocals to get their point across. Their point: That sometimes letting loose means getting a little rowdy and messy. The hangover the next day will be worth it.

Dextress began in the hot summer of 2011 suburbia with lead singer Jackson Taylor and lead guitarist Mark Janz. The band's sound has grown and changed along with the members, and the two founding musicians collaborate with the rest of the band to write all of their own material. Drawing inspiration for their sound primarily from the 80's, specifically Van Halen, Guns N' Roses, and Mötley Crüe, to name a few, Dextress is able to hit the sweet spot for modern appeal mixed with old school rock 'n' roll.

If their enthusiasm isn't already prevalent in their recorded songs, their live shows will leave you with no doubt that Dextress is passionate about what they do and that they know how to put on a show. The atmosphere shifts when the band gets on stage and doesn't let up until the lights go on again. They're dramatic without being overwhelming - a classic act but missing typical by a mile.

As AC/DC puts it, it's a long way to the top if you wanna rock 'n' roll and with the introduction of a new rhythm section comprising of Eric Paulin on Bass and Keith Runco behind the Drums, the band has nothing to do and nowhere to go but upwards.

A Gentleman's Pact
A Gentleman's Pact
Canadian punk is defined by it's isolation: no one knows small towns better than punks from the rural prairies. A Gentleman's Pact is no different, they were born and raised in the small town of Beaumont, AB. Blending punk with folk-rock influences fuels A Gentleman's Pact's honest lyrics, depicting mostly true stories of loss, heartbreak, and the struggle to define one's identity.

The early and untimely death of best friends, romantic heartbreak, and overcoming addiction are just some of the experiences A Gentleman's Pact draws from when creating music. They debuted their first EP, Sorry For The Mess I've Made in August 2015 and are excited to work with Royal Studio late 2016 to create their first full length album.
